A podcast inspired by the comedy show Funny over 40: Exceptional & Exhausted, a groundbreaking, brilliantly funny and undeniably entertaining comedy show produced and hosted by Montreal comediennes, Monica Hamburg and Jennifer June Chapman,
In the spirit of creating space for performers who are undercelebrated and underbooked, our show features a rotating all-star lineup of women, non-binary and transgender performers, at and over the age of 40, showcasing a variety of comedic talents, from stand-up and storytelling to improv, Burlesque, musical and sketch comedy and more.
On part One Season One Episode Eight of Funny over 40:Exceptional & Exhausted, Monica and Jennifer had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Ankita Ghosh about the comedy scene in Vietnam, the trials and tribulations of being starting comedy at a later age, comedy via zoom versus life shows, on being an asshole, and so much more.
Ankita Ghosh is an advertising creative director by day and by-accident comedian at night.
She hails from India, lives in Vietnam, and has made people laugh in Los Angeles, London, Edinburgh(Fringe), Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Melbourne, Saigon, Bangkok, Hanoi… Clearly, that escalated rather quickly in 5 years!
Much like Indian food, her comedy is authentic, flavourful and spicy. Hold on to your pants!
